Email Signature
Email Clients:
Gmail
GMail does not normally support HTML Signatures, for this you need to install a userscript.
You should see a new box underneath your folders called HTML Signatures.
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code within it.
- Within Gmail options – Click ‘New Signature’ to add a new HTML Signature.
- Paste the html code into the large text field and save it.
- To insert your signature into a new message, simply click on it’s name.
Outlook.com / Hotmail
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code within it.
- Within Outlook.com/Hotmail options – Click ‘Formatting, font and signature’.
- On the Personal signature option bar select ‘Edit in HTML’ in the drop down menu.
- Paste the html code into the large text field and save it.
Yahoo! Mail
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code.
- Within Yahoo! Mail, select Mail Options from Options.
- Navigate to Signature.
- Select Show a signature on all outgoing messages.
- Select Rich Text and paste the html code into the text field.
Windows Live Hotmail
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code.
- Within Windows Live Mail, select More Options from Options.
- Click on Personal e-mail Signature.
- Use the drop-down which by default shows Rich Text and select Edit in HTML.
- Paste your html code into the text field and Save it.
AOL Webmail
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code.
- Within AOL Webmail, navigate to your Settings.
- Select Compose from the left sidebar.
- Select Use Signature from the drop-down box.
- Paste your html code into the text field and Save it.
Windows Mail (Outlook Express)
- Save your signature .html file anywhere you wish.
- From the menu, go to Tools > Options….
- Navigate to the Signatures tab.
- Under Edit Signature, Select File and select your .html signature file.
Outlook 2003
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code.
- Browse to Tools > Options through the menu.
- Select the Mail Format tab. Ensure that your Mail Format is set to HTML by using the drop-down box.
- Click the ‘Signatures..’ button.
- Select New.., followed by Advanced Edit.. and paste your html code into the text field and Save it.
Outlook 2007
Outlook 2007 doesn’t support HTML Signatures, so we’ll have to work around it.
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code.
- In your Outlook 2007, Browse to Tools > Options through the menu.
- Select the Mail Format tab. Ensure that your Mail Format is set to HTML by using the drop-down box.
- Click the Signatures.. button.
- Select New.. and name your new signature.
- Paste your html code into the text field and Save it.
Outlook 2010
In Office 2010 suite, Microsoft has made the process of adding an HTML signatures more complicated.
- Open File Explorer
- Go to Your Users/YOURUSERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Signatures/
(Note that the AppData folder is hidden by default so you might need to select show hidden folders) - Copy your .htm signature file into this Signatures folder.
- Open Outlook 2010 and go to FILE/OPTIONS.
- Click the Mail tab, then the signatures button.
- You should see your signature in the list of Select signatures to edit box. In the Edit signature box, your signature may not display properly. Do not worry, this is perfectly normal. Do not make any changes.
- Choose your signature in the New Message and Replies/Forwards.
Outlook 2011
Outlook 2011 doesn’t support HTML Signatures, so we’ll have to work around it.
- Open your .html signature file in your browser
- With the browser open and on the foreground and your signature file displayed, press Command + A (mac), CTRL A (PC) on your keyboard to “Select All” and Copy.
- Open Outlook 2011 > Select “Preferences” > and “Signatures”
- Click the plus button on the lower left to create a new signature. If there’s content in the big right signature window after you’ve clicked the plus icon, delete it. It maybe displaying your first and last name.
- Paste your signature that you copied from your browser
- Set your “Default Signatures” and Save.
Outlook 2013
In Office 2013 suite, Microsoft has made the process of adding an HTML signatures more complicated, but there is always a way!
- Open File Explorer
- Go to Your Username/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Signatures/
- Copy your .htm signature file in the Signatures folder.
- Open Outlook 2013 and go to FILE/OPTIONS.
- Click the Mail tab, then the signatures button.
- You should see your signature in the list of Select signatures to edit box. In the Edit signature box, your signature may not display properly. Do not worry, this is perfectly normal. Do not make any cjhanges.
- Choose your signature in the New Message and Replies/Forwards.
Office 365
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code within it.
- Within Office 365 options – Click ‘Formatting, font and signature’.
- On the Personal signature option bar select ‘Edit in HTML’ in the drop down menu.
- Paste the html code into the large text field and save it.
Apple Mail
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code.
- Go to Mail > Preferences, then click the Signatures tab.
- Click the Add Signature button; a text area will slide open.
- Paste your html code into the text field and Save it.
iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch (iOS 7)
To install a signature on these devices, you will need to install it on your computer first.
- After setting up the signature on your computer, send yourself an email with the signature.
- Open the email on your device.
- Copy your signature to your clipboard. Tap and hold your finger on part of the signature that is not a link. When the iOS select box appears, drag the little selection tabs to surround your signature as best as possible. When surrounded, tap the “Copy” button to copy your signature to your iOS Clipboard.
- Navigate to the iOS Settings App, then to ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’, then to ‘Signatures’. Here you can paste your signature for all email accounts, or just one if you would rather. Tap twice in the empty box and select ‘Paste’ from the popup menu.
- If the signature does not look right, shake your device until an “Undo Change Attributes” screen shows. Select “Undo”. The signature will revert to your original, pasted design.
Eudora
- Open your .txt signature file and copy the html code.
- Within Eudora, select Tools > Signatures.. from the menu.
- Right-click anywhere inside the signature window and select New.. from the context menu.
- Enter the name of the new signature.
- Run the following: “%appdata%\Qualcomm\Eudora\Sigs\” (without quotes).
- Paste your html code into the text field and Save it.
- Save and you’re done!
Thunderbird
- Save your signature .html file anywhere you wish.
- Within Thunderbird, from the menu, go to Tools > Account Settings.
- Select the account you wish to add the signature to from the left pane.
- Tick Attach this signature and choose your signature .html file, and press OK.
Lotus Notes
- Save your signature .html file anywhere you wish.
- Within Lotus Notes, from the Inbox, click Tools > Preferences.
- Navigate to the Signature tab.
- Click HTML, and select your signature .html file, and click OK.
